Within this website you will find a lot of detailed information about our 18 beautiful waterfront lots next to the Stuart Lake Marine Park.

Baynes Island is located on Stuart Lake, approximately 27.5 km NW of Fort Saint James, in North Central British Columbia, with easy access on a paved road to the boat launch, and then about 10 minutes  by boat to the island.

Baynes Island is much more than just a recreational development to us; it is also where we go to relax with our friends and family, and we have years of wonderful memories there.

We put a lot of thought and planning into the layout of these lots,  building something unique and beyond the norm, to deliver the type of features that we would want for our friends, families, and neighbors.

Highlights

Our waterfront lot sizes range from 4.9 acres to 19.8 acres, with the majority in the 5-acre range. To put that into perspective, 5 acres is about the size of 3 1/2 NFL sized football fields.

Lake Frontage:

Lake frontages range from 259 ft to 3,698 ft, with the average frontage of a 5-acre lot being close to 400 ft (longer than an NFL football field)

With 142 acres of island to work with, we created a large 12.7-acre common area in the center of the island, with each lot owner co-owning a 1/18th shared interest. Within the common area we have built a large network of hiking trails, so whether it’s heading down to visit a neighbor, going for an afternoon hike or a swim in the protected bay, there is a trail to get you there without intruding on to your neighbors’ property.

One of the nicest pebble beaches on the island is in a well protected bay on the NE part of the island ( it's the favorite swimming hole for the kids when we are there ).  We have set aside a portion of this beach to be shared as common beach, which is part of the common area mentioned above. Meet some neighbors for a BBQ & swim; the common beach will connect friends and family.

While access and parking at the various boat launches located along Stuart Lake is not an issue, we have planned for the future. We purchased a property near the Hibiscus Road boat launch and built a dedicated parking area for the exclusive use of the owners of Baynes Island. The Hibiscus Road boat launch is a short 4km boat ride from Baynes Island and is the nearest boat launch to the island.

The Stuart-Trembleur-Takla Lake boating system consists of nearly 300 km of waterway. These beautiful pristine lakes offer a multitude of recreational opportunities including wilderness camping, boating, and fishing.
